Guardian First Book Award 2009

I’m stunned and delighted to have been longlisted today for the Guardian First Book Award 2009.  I don’t really know what to say, except that it’s an honour to be included on a list so exciting and diverse.

You can read the Guardian’s article about it here.

  1. Hurrah – very well done. Deservedly on the long-list in our opinion (and there’s a very nice bit in the Guardian podcast discussion today about your novel which you might try to hear if you haven’t already)

  2. Thank you!

I just heard the Guardian podcast and thought it was great. I’m glad they said it was uninfluenced by literary fashion – I didn’t even know there was literary fashion!

Must stop only reading books by long-dead authors…

  3. Hello!

I have just finished your book and I thought the moth-winged cattle were a stroke of genius, if you are interested in reading my review, just follow the link above!

I wish you lots of luck for the future

Thank you for the lovely review. You’re very kind! I’m glad you enjoyed it and that the little moth-winged fellows made you smile.
